Our story…

Designscape Horticultural Services began with QUALITY. In 1983, as newlyweds, founders Dan and Deb Gluesenkamp came from humble beginnings.  From industry and farming backgrounds respectively, sowing seeds in the agriculture community was always a passion to be shared. During their college years while working in their own University Greenhouses they cultivated that passion and it began to grow into a business.  Recognizing their deep roots as Indiana natives they finished degrees in natural resource management and botany and began working in Bloomington on residential gardens providing new design and renovation for homeowners.  From the inception in 1986 Designscape has fostered an intelligent course in landscaping and property management while operating within a framework of Christian principles that is basis for growth and success of the company.

Designscape Horticultural Services main focus is on QUALITY.  The tradition of excellence continues and has
earned repeated state and national awards in landscape design, installation, and maintenance, as well as continuing
accolades from the heart of its business: satisfied, loyal customers like you.  Specializing in all fine garden elements outdoors (and indoors), members of the year-round staff are Indiana Accredited Horticulturists and Master Horticulturists.  The design, production, and maintenance teams come with university degrees-in landscape architecture, landscape design, geography, botany, and other horticultural areas.  With years of experience and a highly talented staff Designscape’s customers enjoy a unique approach to building outdoor living spaces for residential and commercial clients alike.
